History
Since its founding in 1881, the Taiheiyo Cement Group has continued to evolve alongside the development of society.Building on our cement business as a foundation, we have continued to grow and now operate a wide range of businesses both in Japan and overseas.

Establishment of a cement manufacturing company
Onoda Cement Co., Ltd., the predecessor of Taiheiyo Cement, was established, marking the beginning of Japan’s history of cement manufacturing. Following this, the company continued to grow alongside increasing demand for the construction of railways, ports, dams, and other infrastructure, building a long history as a company supporting Japan’s development.

The Launch of Taiheiyo Cement
Chichibu Onoda Cement Corporation and Nihon Cement Co., Ltd. merged to form Taiheiyo Cement Corporation. The new company name reflected our aspiration to achieve further growth across the Pacific Rim.

Accelerating global expansion
In the 2000s, the Taiheiyo Cement Group strengthened its business foundation in the United States while expanding its production and sales operations in Vietnam and the Philippines. We expanded our network primarily across the Pacific Rim and accelerated our growth as a global company.
