Phosphorus recovery using Rintoru

The cement industry uses various types of waste as alternative fuels and raw materials. Primary among these waste products is the sewage sludge generated by sewage treatment plants. The concentration of phosphorus contained in this sludge has risen in recent years in some municipalities, and, from the perspective of maintaining cement quality, the amount which can be accepted for cement use is declining. In addition to this technology for recovering phosphorus from wastewater, Taiheiyo Cement is developing technologies for turning sewage sludge into fertilizer. We see these technologies as important not only for phosphorus resource recycling, but for helping the cement industry establish and sustain a resource recycling-based society, and we are working to provide and spread these technologies.

This site focuses on applications in the sewage field, but Rintoru can also be used in fields such as the human waste treatment, livestock, food, and chemical fields.
